SETGO respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and your rights. SETGO is a listing platform — we do not process payments for user-to-user transactions (services, rentals, marketplace sales).

1. Information We Collect

a. Account Information

• Name, email address, phone number
• Profile details (display name, bio, business name, location)

b. Payment Information (for SETGO paid features only)

• Billing name, email for Featured Listings and Subscriptions
• Payment method details — processed by PayHere/Stripe; we never store full card numbers

c. Verification Documents (optional, for providers)

• Government ID, business registration, professional licenses
• Used only for verification review; deleted after decision + 1 year

d. Automatically Collected

• IP address, browser/device info, usage patterns
• Cookies and similar technologies

2. How We Use Your Information

• Create and manage your account
• Display your listings and profile on the Platform
• Process payments for Featured Listings and Subscriptions
• Verify provider identities (if you apply)
• Communicate about your account, listings, and platform updates
• Improve platform functionality and user experience
• Prevent fraud and enforce terms
• Comply with legal obligations

3. Information Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share only as follows:

a. With Other Users (for your listings)

• Your display name, profile photo, bio, location (district/city)
• Verified badge status (if applicable)
• Phone or WhatsApp contact details only when you opt in to share them on your marketplace listings. They are revealed only after a visitor requests them, and you can turn this off at any time.

b. Service Providers

• Payment processors (PayHere, Stripe) — only for your SETGO payments
• SMS/email providers — for notifications and OTP
• Cloud hosting (AWS) — data storage

These providers are contractually bound to protect your data.

c. Legal Requirements

We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect rights/safety.

4. Data Security

• Encryption in transit (TLS 1.2+) and at rest (AES-256)
• No storage of full payment card details
• Access controls and audit logging
• Regular security assessments

No internet transmission is 100% secure. Use strong passwords.

5. Data Retention

• Account data: While account is active
• Transaction records (SETGO payments): 7 years (tax/legal)
• Verification documents: Decision + 1 year, then deleted
• Communication logs: 2 years

6. Your Rights

• Access: Request copy of your data
• Rectification: Correct inaccurate data
• Erasure: Delete your account and data (subject to legal retention)
• Portability: Receive data in structured format
• Objection: Opt out of marketing communications
